Softball, Teachers, and Nurses - oh my!

Cait has now offically started Softball. Opening day was last Saturday, and the weather managed to hold out for us! Check out how intense she is listening to the Coach! LOL

My mom called the other night to ask for my help in making something for her staff for Nurses day tomorrow. Here is what i came up with - they are lil' (about 3") flower pins - in the center of the pin, it has a bandaid that reads "Nurses Call The Shots!" I did them on my Cricut, using the flower from Plantin Schoolbook. I also added some of my new flocking i bought at AC Moore, love this stuff!! The topper is made using cuts from my new Wild Card Cricut cart.
Today is Teacher Appreciation Day, and i wanted Cait to bring in something special for her teacher, Mrs. Deldeo. Here is what i came up with last night, it's a sort of message center. I used an 8x10 acrylic frame, and doctored it up with cork, clips, a mini clipboard and post it notes, and then embellished it up! I hope she likes it!

You Are a Discount Shopper

You love to get things as cheaply as possible. You live for sales.

It's partially because you like to save money, but it's also because you like the thrill of finding a fabulous deal.

Of all the types, you tend to shop frequently but rarely by. You keep an eye on prices.

Brand names are not that important to you. You know how to have style without collecting designer tags.

You feel like something good will happen to you in the next few days.

You have an amazingly strong work ethic. You are likely to be very successful in life.

You are an independent, individualistic person. You thrive when you're doing your own thing.

Your biggest worry in your life is your financial security. You think about money a lot.

When it comes time to relax, you have difficulty relaxing. You are a bit high strung.

2. Blog more - i have been terrible!!!
3. Complete my first 1/2 marathon (in March, yea!!)
4. Keep a better house (not collect clutter!)
5. Learn more about my faith (read the Bible more, and learn more)

Patriotic Card & Disney layout

Hi! Not much new here, the weather has been nice, so i have been trying to get out more and enjoy our short summer season. I did, for the first time ever, make a few family members a cute july 4th card on my new Cricut.

I got this inspiration from the BBTB challenge using the popcicle from Doodlecharms, and i saw that peguin paper on someone's card , and i loved it, well, while visiting a lss in Seekonk MA, i was browsing the papers, and my daughter said "Mom, check out this cute paper!" - Low and behold - there it was! So i got 2 sheets of it.. i just love it! The stamp is from StudioG clear stamps at Michaels, for only 1.00!

Also, i just did a digi layout for a challenge at Disboards, and here it is:

The cool autographs are from a friend over at the disboards, jess (a.k.a. Labdogs42) she does great work! also, the background paper and accents are from another friend, Britt, who has her own design store at www.scrapmatters.com under Britt-ish Designs!

Newest Creations and my mascots!

This is a Mickey themed flower bouquet that i made yesterday to brighten up my Disney themed craft room.. I am slowly working to add all my Disney touches to my new room.. I lifted this idea from someone on the Cricut messageboard, who made a candy cake with similar Mickey flowers.

Next, is the mini card that i did for my niece's birthday (see first blog post for her bouquet), she loves b&w so it was an easy scheme to do.
Then i did another lil' pocketbook using the Cricut and Plantin Schoolbook. I used Stampin' Up!'s double sided cardstock, and embellished it with Skittles. (Love these things btw, got myself another bag!! LOL) I filled the pocketbook with about 5 choc. chip cookies and gave it to my sis, who is at home suffering with a neck disc issue (Hi Barb!!! Hope you are doing better!).
Ahhhh... my 2 craft room mascots!! This is Petra, my black lab mix.
Here are the two of them!
And here is my other girl -- Summer. She is mama's baby! (Besides my kid of course!)
And here is my daughter's teachers gifts this year, i used an idea of the Cricut messageboard, and tweaked it in these cute lunchboxes from Michaels. The big one was her teachers and the smaller one was for the teachers aide.

They were filled with Reisen and Smarties candies. And the tag reads, "Dear Mrs. DelDeo, you're the "Reisen" i am such a "Smartie".
Thats all for now! Thanks for stoppin' by!!
